First Week Home
I guess it's time to post a quick late night update in between feeds! Something tells me this will be the only way I get a little computer time for awhile...
I can't believe the twins are already 10 days old! It has been a crazy week, and I have loved every minute of it.... ok, well almost every minute of it ;) Kyra and Jeremy are doing great! They were slow to feed at first, and had taken a little while to start putting on weight, but we are finally going in the right direction! They now officially are pros at doing all those infant tasks...eating, pooping, peeing, and sleeping. Of course they are great at snuggling too (my personal favorite). I just can't seem to put them down, and neither can Ayla! She has been such a great big sister, always around to "help" when she can :) Ayla is adjusting better than I originally thought she would. She has some difficult moments, and is definitely testing her boundaries more than before, but overall she really loves her new siblings and wants to help! I love my family so much, and feel so blessed. I'm just taking one day at a time and trying to enjoy every moment.

The twins are here!
It's been a very long time since I've written anything, and obviously a lot has happened. I figured this would be a good time to revive my blog as my life has taken so many twists and turns in the past year, and it's about to get crazier! I've definitely learned that I cannot plan life, I just need to learn to hold on and enjoy the ride. So without any further delay.....
THE TWINS ARE HERE!!!!
It was the craziest delivery and not at all what we had expected! After a semi-difficult pregnancy it had been decided that it was safest to schedule a c-section, which I was not very happy with. We had one scheduled for July 21st (38wks 3days), but the twins had other things in mind. My water broke at 5:40am on July 10th while I was sleeping.... it was the SAME EXACT time my water broke with Gabe (also while I was sleeping). We got up and started getting ready to go the hospital. I thought I would have plenty of time b/c I never actually went into natural labor with either Gabe or Ayla they had to end up using Pitocin to get the contractions going. By the time we got to the hospital it was almost 6:45am and I was having some pretty bad contractions. When they set me up in triage I was in having hard contractions only seconds apart. They took blood to check my platelets to see if I would be able to get an epidural or spinal block for my c-section, but they came back unreadable. They took a second blood and sent it down but when they checked me I was already 9cm, so they started to prep for a c-section and decided it would just be safest to knock me out based on my previous weeks platelet reading. They started to wheel me out of the triage room and I felt pressure and Kyra came right out. No one could believe it! They lifted up the sheet and there she was screaming! They plopped her on my chest and wheeled me into the OR. After a quick ultrasound they found Jeremy was head down and I could proceed to deliver him naturally. 42 minutes after Kyra was born Jeremy came out with one small push. They are absolutely perfect, and I know Gabe was watching over me with this delivery. They came home with us today, and I am still in awe that they are actually here! Makayla will be home tomorrow and I just can't wait to have us all under one roof!
As for the official info:
Kyra Eve Nava was born at 8:30am. She was 5 lbs 9 oz and 19 inches long.
Jeremy Eric Nava was born at 9:12am. He was 5 lb 14 oz and 19.5 inches long.
